Kurumba Pitch Book

Kurumba Pitch Book project is an in-depth exploration of the little-known custom of karinirutha that existed in Kerala during the 17th and 18th centuries. The project sheds light on the history of this gruesome practice, where women of the lowest caste were buried alive under the pillars during the construction of bridges, in the belief that it would strengthen the structure.
